Annabel stood outside the FBI building; she was wearing a black pinstripe suit with a white undershirt and navy blue tie, her outfit was finished off with black kitten heels and dark red lipstick. She took a drag off her cigarette and watched as the pedestrians passed by. She shifted as a kid bumped into her and she effortlessly snatched him by the collar, pulling him back towards her, "Don't do that. Next time you try to lift from someone, make sure they aren't an FBI agent." she scolded and snatched her wallet, smoothly lifting his wallet out of his pocket before shoving him away, Now get lost. Next time I see you, I'm arresting you." she snarled and he scurried away. She rolled her eyes and slipped the wallet, and her's into her inner coat pocket. She took another drag from her cigarette and with her free hand she pulled her cell from her pocket.
'Nice Lift' she read then looked at the sender's number, Seth she sighed and scoffed and looked up. It took her a moment, but she spotted the tall, handsome man standing with the kid a few feet from her. She nodded her head to him and smiled.
'Thanks, he's not trouble. Let him go' she responded and took another drag from the cigarette. She glanced up and spotted the kid darting down the sidewalk and looked back to where Seth had been, but he was gone. Anna shrugged lightly and took the last drag from the cigarette before flicking it onto the ground as she exhaled and smothered it with the toe of her shoe. She took another glance around then turned around and went inside. She sent a soft smile to the guard and he buzzed her in.
Anna stepped into the elevator and reapplied her lipstick as she rode. She stepped off and passed through two glass doors and into a bustling office; phones rang, people ran around and she looked up to see the senior agent of this branch nod at her. She readjusted her suit top and walked through the office, pausing for a moment to grab a coffee from the new guy, who unfortunately was the errand boy for the month. She smiled at him and winked before moving on.
She input her code into the keypad for her office door and nudged it over with her hip and elbow. She took a swig of the fresh coffee and let the flavor swirl in her mouth and she smiled at the flavor of vanilla and Italian roast. She closed her eyes and enjoyed it for a moment. She walked over to her desk and sat down. There was already a stack of cases for her to look over and she sighed. She hadn't gotten a break for almost a week but she set her coffee down and grabbed the stack of files, "What do we have today...
